The Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) will roll out a citywide beautification campaign, ‘Rang De Gulabi’, to boost Jaipur’s performance in the Swachh Survekshan rankings, officials said Monday.
Campaign Details
Announcing the initiative, JMC commissioner Om Prakash Kasera said nearly 500 walls across the city will be painted in a single day on May 2. While inspired by Jaipur’s identity as the Pink City, the campaign will feature a variety of colours and artistic designs to give different areas a distinct visual appeal.
“The campaign is designed to make Jaipur cleaner, more creative and more vibrant while also showcasing a modern expression of its cultural heritage,” Kasera said.
Participation and Goals
The civic body has invited participation from schools, colleges, NGOs, corporate groups and residents, with voluntary registrations open. “The idea is not only to enhance aesthetics but also to build shared responsibility among citizens,” he added.
The drive comes as the unified JMC prepares to rejoin the national cleanliness survey after five years. Last year, while JMC Greater secured 16th position, JMC Heritage stood 20th in the population over 10 lakhs category of the Swachh Survekshan campaign.
