A joint team comprising officials from revenue, police, transport, and mining departments conducted a special checking campaign on National Highway in Ghatampur Tehsil area on Friday night. The operation was led by Sub-divisional magistrate Abichal Pratap Singh. During the drive, nine vehicles were seized, and 83 vehicles were challaned, with fines totaling Rs 6.75 lakh imposed on the offenders.
Transport Department Actions
The transport department issued challans to 53 vehicles for violating regulations and seized six vehicles. Fines amounting to Rs 5.75 lakh were imposed during this segment of the operation.
Mining Department Seizures
The mining department seized three vehicles and imposed fines totaling Rs 1 lakh in cases related to illegal mining and transportation.
Meanwhile, the police department initiated challan proceedings against 30 vehicles for violating traffic rules. In total, enforcement action was taken against 92 vehicles during this joint operation.
SDM Abichal Pratap Singh stated that the campaign was launched with the objective of ensuring road safety, curbing overloading, preventing illegal mining and transportation, and ensuring compliance with traffic regulations, following the directions of the district magistrate.
