In a recent development, a 34-year-old man who was allegedly kidnapped from the parking lot of a private hospital in Kochi has been released by his abductors. The victim, identified as Sudheer, a native of Thalassery in Kannur, was working as a driver for a private company in the area. He was found on a road near a mall in Palakkad on Friday, according to police sources.
Details of the Abduction
According to the police, Sudheer was abducted by a group of three individuals on the night of June 1. The kidnappers later contacted his employer and demanded a ransom. Based on a complaint filed by Sudheer's mother, the Cheranalloor police registered a case and initiated an investigation. The accused named in the case include Shameer, 40, Ajeesh, 40, and two other unidentified individuals.
Possible Motive
Sources indicate that the complaint from Sudheer's mother mentioned a financial dispute between the suspects and the employer of the company where Sudheer works as the likely reason for the abduction. This dispute may have led to the kidnapping and subsequent ransom demand.
Police Action
After receiving information about the release of Sudheer, a police team was dispatched to Palakkad to bring him back safely. The police have stated that a detailed investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining suspects. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
