KSPCB to Issue Closure Notices to Five Koppal Factories
KSPCB to Issue Closure Notices to Five Koppal Units

The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) has decided to issue closure notices to five factories operating in the Koppal district. This action comes after inspections revealed violations of environmental norms and pollution control regulations.

Details of the Factories

The notices will be served to the following industrial units:

  • Hospet Ispat Private Limited, located in Allanagar
  • Vanya Steels, units 1 and 2
  • HRG Alloys and Steels Private Limited, based in Hirekasanakandi
  • P Balasubbashetty Power and Steels Company, situated in Halavarthi

Reasons for the Action

The KSPCB has cited non-compliance with environmental standards as the primary reason for the proposed closures. The board had earlier issued warnings and given time to these units to rectify the issues, but they failed to comply adequately.

This move is part of a broader crackdown on industrial pollution in the region. KSPCB officials have stated that further inspections are planned to ensure all industries adhere to the prescribed norms.

The closure notices are expected to be issued in the coming days, giving the factories a final opportunity to respond before any legal action is taken.
