Kolkata: A man has been arrested for allegedly snatching a 5.5-gram gold chain from a 65-year-old woman, Niva Middya, in the Survey Park area on Friday. The accused, identified as Manirul Shah, was taken into custody, while his accomplice remains at large, police said.

The stolen gold chain could not be recovered as it was taken away by the fleeing accomplice, according to officials. In her complaint, Middya stated that as soon as she realized the chain was missing from her neck, she raised an alarm. This prompted bystanders in the area to chase the suspects.
