Maoist Bunker Unearthed in Bijapur, Explosives Seized

Security forces unearthed a Maoist bunker hidden underground in the forested hills of Doditumnar Patelpara in Bastar's Bijapur district on Monday and seized a large cache of explosive material, weapons, and equipment. Acting on specific intelligence, a joint team of police launched a search operation and discovered a bunker that Maoists had allegedly concealed underground. After de-mining and safety checks, forces recovered a substantial quantity of material from the site.

The seizure included two generators, an inverter, batteries, solar panels, a motor, a welding and drill machine, one locally made BGL launcher, 29 BGL shells, and two plastic drums. Police stated that the recovery indicated that Maoists had been using the site to store equipment and explosive-related material. Further legal action is being taken in connection with the seizure.

This recovery comes days after security forces in Kanker district found nine IEDs during a search operation in the difficult forest-hill stretch between Badedhausa, Mankot, Uparkotgaon, and Jiklamari.
