A massive fire broke out at a warehouse in the Mundka area of Delhi on Tuesday, sending thick plumes of smoke into the sky and causing panic among locals. The blaze, which started in the afternoon, quickly engulfed the entire building, prompting a major response from the fire department.
Firefighting Operations
As many as 30 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames. Firefighters worked tirelessly to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures. The operation continued for several hours before the fire was brought under control.
No Casualties Reported
Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident. The warehouse was reportedly empty at the time of the fire, and all workers were safely evacuated. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and an investigation has been ordered.
Response from Authorities
Delhi Fire Service officials confirmed that the fire was confined to the warehouse and did not spread to adjacent buildings. Police have cordoned off the area to facilitate firefighting operations and are assisting in the investigation.
Local residents reported hearing loud explosions from inside the warehouse, which may have been caused by the ignition of stored materials. The exact nature of the goods stored in the warehouse is being determined.
Previous Fire Incidents
This incident comes just months after a similar fire at a factory in Delhi's Bawana area, which raised concerns about fire safety compliance in industrial areas. Authorities have vowed to take strict action against any violations found during the investigation.
