In preparation for the upcoming monsoon season, Mohali Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana, alongside Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh, convened a meeting with all councillors and Municipal Corporation (MC) officials to assess the progress of cleaning sewers and road gullies. This was the first meeting chaired by Samana after his election as Mayor.
Review of Cleaning Work
During the meeting, the mayor sought detailed information on the ongoing efforts to decongest sewers and road gullies. He also gathered feedback from councillors regarding problematic areas within their respective wards. Samana emphasized the need to intensify declogging operations before the onset of the monsoon.
Mayor's Inspection
Samana stated that he had already visited several parts of the city to conduct a first-hand review of the situation. He assured that every ward would be given attention, with the immediate priority being the completion of cleaning work, as there is limited time before the rains begin.
Other Discussions
The meeting also covered developmental works, complaint redressal mechanisms, and the importance of regular field visits by MC officials. MLA Kulwant Singh announced another meeting of councillors scheduled for the following week, urging them to bring forward suggestions for the city's improvement.
