Noida Airport Launch: Comprehensive Security Plan Unveiled by Police
Noida Airport Security Plan Unveiled for Domestic Launch

The Noida International Airport is set to commence domestic operations on Monday, prompting the GB Nagar police commissionerate to roll out a detailed security and traffic management blueprint.

Operational Police Infrastructure

The Jewar domestic terminal police station is already functioning, staffed with sufficient personnel under an Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP). The station has been segmented into outposts at Milestone 32, the cargo terminal, and the domestic terminal. Five additional outposts have been established along the Yamuna Expressway and Peripheral Expressway.

Security Measures and Personnel Training

Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh stated that arrangements encompass passenger safety, law and order, emergency response, traffic management, and airport security aligned with international standards. Over 130 police personnel have received specialized immigration training for airport duties. Dedicated PCR vehicles patrol strategic locations within and around the airport, as well as nearby villages. Help desks staffed by plain-clothes male and female officers have been set up inside the terminal to assist travelers. A dedicated police control room has been established in the airport parking area.

Security agencies, including CISF, bomb disposal and detection squad, dog squad, and anti-sabotage check teams, will coordinate with local police for periodic security audits. The outer perimeter will be covered by outposts at Dayanatpur, Neemka, Thora, Jahangirpur, and Tirathli. Permanent pickets will be stationed at Kishorpur Road near Gate 3, Dayanatpur near Gate 2, Tirathli-Dayanatpur Road, and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway flyover.

Future Expansion Plans

To accommodate the airport's future expansion, authorities have proposed a separate Jewar international terminal police station with around 70 posts, including DCP, ADCP, and ACP ranks. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is processing the allocation of 10,000 square meters for a dedicated police line, residential quarters, and administrative offices. An additional 6,000 square meters within 500 meters of the airport is being sought for offices, meeting halls, and senior officers' guard rooms. Nearly 14,900 square meters has been allotted for two fire stations in the airport region, with construction handled by the UP public works department.

All new facilities will be integrated with CCTV systems, a central control room, and digital policing infrastructure. An intelligent traffic management system (ITMS) is also planned, along with real-time integration of emergency services including hospitals and ambulances.
