Noida Residents Demand Urgent Road Repairs Ahead of Monsoon in Multiple Sectors
Noida Residents Urge Road Repairs Before Monsoon

Residents from Sectors 19, 58, and 59 in Noida have lodged formal complaints emphasizing the critical need for road repairs, as deteriorating internal roads pose significant safety hazards. The residents report that several stretches have become nearly impassable, with conditions expected to worsen during the upcoming monsoon season. They are demanding immediate action to prevent accidents and alleviate daily inconveniences.

Residents Voice Concerns Over Neglected Roads

RC Gupta, president of the Sector 19 RWA, described the internal roads as being in a pathetic state. He noted that many roads are unfit for use, and the approaching rains will only exacerbate the situation. According to Gupta, the roads in Sector 19 have not undergone maintenance for nine years, far exceeding the usual five-year cycle for recarpeting. He expressed concerns that monsoon showers could further delay any repair efforts. Despite repeated requests, even existing potholes in the sector have remained unfixed for over a year, he added.

Bhushan Sharma, joint treasurer of the Federation of Noida Resident Welfare Associations (FONRWA), highlighted the presence of massive potholes on the main road connecting Sectors 58 and 59. These potholes, which in some areas occupy nearly half the road width, create a severe risk of accidents. The route experiences heavy daily traffic, making conditions particularly dangerous for both motorists and pedestrians during rainy weather.

Call for Immediate Action

Residents are urging the concerned authorities to prioritize road repairs and maintenance to ensure community safety and convenience. They stress that immediate action is crucial to prevent potential accidents and safeguard the well-being of residents. A response from the Noida Authority is still awaited.

The situation underscores the ongoing infrastructure challenges in Noida, where residents have long demanded better road conditions. With the monsoon season fast approaching, the urgency for repairs has intensified, as delays could lead to further deterioration and increased risks.
