Patiala: DPC chief inspects Kali temple works

Inspection at Kali Mata Temple

District Planning Committee Chairman Tejinder Mehta on Friday inspected the ongoing construction and beautification works at the Kali Mata temple in Patiala. Officials of the Public Works Department and the temple manager briefed him about the progress of the projects.

Temple as Cultural Symbol

Mehta, who also serves as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) district president, said the temple is not only a centre of faith for millions of devotees but also an important symbol of Patiala’s religious and cultural heritage. He stated that the development works at the shrine are a priority for the Punjab Government.

Government Vision

Mehta claimed that the people-centric and development-oriented vision of AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal is being effectively implemented in Punjab under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. “Along with education, healthcare and infrastructure, the government is also working for the preservation of religious and cultural heritage,” he said.
