Platforms changed at Chandigarh station for RLDA upgrade July 20-25

The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) will undertake a phased upgrade of Chandigarh railway station from July 20 to 25, 2026, necessitating platform changes for several arriving and departing trains. The upgrade will be carried out in two phases: July 20-22 and July 23-25, with four-hour blocks each day from 10:10 am to 2:10 pm.

First Phase: July 20-22

During the first phase, blocks will be taken on Line Nos. 4 (Platform 3), 5 (Platform 4), 6 (Platform 5), and 8 (Platform 6). The following platform changes will be in effect:

  • Train No. 12046 (Chandigarh-New Delhi Shatabdi Express): Platform 2.
  • Train No. 14542 (Amritsar-Chandigarh Express) and Train No. 15531 (Saharsa-Amritsar Jansadharan Express): Platform 1.
  • Train No. 12058 (Daulatpur Chowk-New Delhi Jan Shatabdi Express) and Train No. 14332 (Kalka-Delhi Express): Platform 3.

Second Phase: July 23-25

In the second phase, blocks will be taken on Line Nos. 6 (Platform 5) and 8 (Platform 6). The platform changes are as follows:

  • Train No. 12046 (Chandigarh-New Delhi Shatabdi Express): Platform 2.
  • Train No. 14542 (Amritsar-Chandigarh Express): Platform 1.
  • Train No. 12058 (Daulatpur Chowk-New Delhi Jan Shatabdi Express) and Train No. 14332 (Kalka-Delhi Express): Platform 3.

Yashanjeet Singh, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Northern Railway, Ambala Division, confirmed that the station will be blocked in coordination with the Railway Administration for the installation of a rooftop balance at the concourse level. Passengers are advised to check updated platform information before travel.
