The Rajasthan Assembly in Jaipur received a bomb threat on Friday morning, triggering a full-scale security response and evacuation of the premises. This marks the second time this month that the Assembly has been targeted with a threat email.
Timeline of Events
The threat was sent at 9:15 am to the Assembly's official email ID, warning of a blast scheduled for 1 pm. The message also contained communal undertones, raising additional concerns among security agencies.
Police and security teams, including the bomb disposal squad, immediately rushed to the complex. Officials and employees were evacuated as teams began a systematic search of the building.
Search Operation
The entire complex was combed for nearly three hours, with personnel sweeping corridors, offices, and entry points. No suspicious objects were found during the operation.
After the all-clear was given, officials and staff were allowed to re-enter the Assembly complex.
Previous Incident
On April 13, bomb threats sent via email to the Assembly, the Rajasthan High Court's Jaipur bench, and district courts had triggered similar evacuations and hours-long searches. In that instance as well, no explosives were found.
Authorities are investigating the latest threat and are on high alert to prevent any potential security breaches.
