Rajasthan Excise Department's 15-Day Drive Against Illegal Liquor

The Rajasthan excise department is set to launch a special enforcement drive from May 1 to 15, aimed at curbing the illegal liquor trade across the state, officials announced on Thursday.

Zero-Tolerance Policy Against Illicit Liquor

Excise Commissioner Namit Mehta has directed strict action under a zero-tolerance policy against the illegal manufacture, storage, transportation, and sale of liquor, including smuggling from other states. The department has instructed enforcement teams to intensify patrols, set up checkpoints, and conduct raids to detect and dismantle illicit operations.

Coordinated Efforts with Police

Officials stated that enforcement teams will work in close coordination with the police to monitor key routes and toll plazas for the movement of illicit consignments. This collaborative approach aims to strengthen surveillance and ensure swift action against violators.

Compliance at Licensed Shops

The department has also ordered strict compliance at licensed liquor shops. All outlets must sell liquor at the prescribed maximum retail price (MRP) with proper holograms. Any violations will result in immediate action, including the suspension or cancellation of licenses.

Checks at Hotels, Bars, and Event Venues

Checks will be intensified at hotels, bars, dhabas, and event venues to detect unlicensed sale of liquor. Cases will be registered against establishments found violating the rules. The drive will also focus on preventing the sale of liquor without proper authorization at social gatherings and public events.

Regular Monitoring and District-Wise Reviews

During the 15-day campaign, regular monitoring and district-wise reviews will be carried out to assess the effectiveness of the enforcement measures. Officials emphasized that the drive is part of a broader strategy to eliminate the illegal liquor trade and ensure public safety.
