Rewari Police Offer Relief to Commuters Amid Rising Temperatures
Rewari Police Help Commuters Beat the Heat

As temperatures continue to rise across Haryana, the Rewari police have stepped up to provide much-needed relief to commuters. In a proactive measure to combat the scorching heat, the district police have set up several water kiosks and shaded rest areas along major roads and intersections. This initiative aims to assist travelers, especially those on two-wheelers and pedestrians, who are most vulnerable to heatstroke and dehydration.

Community-Focused Initiative

The Rewari police, under the leadership of Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek Jorwal, have deployed personnel to manage these facilities. The kiosks offer clean drinking water, oral rehydration solution (ORS), and temporary shelters. SP Jorwal stated, 'Our priority is the safety and well-being of the public. With temperatures crossing 45 degrees Celsius, we want to ensure no commuter suffers due to lack of basic amenities.'

Strategic Placements

The water kiosks have been strategically placed at busy junctions, bus stands, and railway stations. Additionally, police patrol vans are equipped with water coolers and first-aid kits to assist those in distress. Commuters have expressed gratitude for the timely help. 'It's a lifesaver. The police are doing a great job,' said Ramesh Kumar, a daily commuter from Gurugram.

Heatwave Precautions

The Haryana government has issued a heatwave alert, advising residents to stay indoors during peak hours. However, for those who must travel, the Rewari police initiative serves as a crucial support system. The department has also launched an awareness campaign through public address systems, urging people to stay hydrated and avoid direct sun exposure.

This effort is part of a broader strategy by the Haryana Police to ensure public safety during extreme weather conditions. Similar arrangements are being considered in other districts based on Rewari's model. The initiative has been widely praised on social media, with many calling it a 'humanitarian step' by the police force.
