The Haryana Government has taken two significant decisions to strengthen the state's public health system and provide better medical facilities to the general public near their homes. The government has approved the upgrade of the 200-bed Civil Hospital in Sonepat to a 300-bed facility and the establishment of a new sub-health centre in the rural area of Panihar Chak in Hisar district.
Details of the Decisions
Health Minister Arti Singh Rao shared further details, stating that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is committed to ensuring world-class healthcare reaches every citizen. Advancing this vision, the Chief Minister gave the green signal to both proposals. The upgrade of the Sonepat hospital was announced during this year's state budget session.
Benefits of the Expansion
The expansion of Sonepat Civil Hospital is expected to bring major relief to patients from local and surrounding areas. Currently, the district hospital faces heavy patient load. With the increase to 300 beds, seriously ill patients will no longer have to wait for beds. The upgrade will also facilitate the construction of new wards, availability of modern medical equipment, and deployment of additional doctors and paramedical staff. This will reduce the financial and mental burden on patients' families.
New Sub-Health Centre in Panihar Chak
To strengthen primary health services at the grassroots level in rural areas, Panihar Chak village has received a major boost. With the Chief Minister's approval for a new sub-health centre, the lives of residents in Panihar Chak and several surrounding villages will become easier. Now, rural residents will not have to travel long distances to cities or large civil hospitals for treatment of common illnesses and immunisation.
