Trichy MP Durai Vaiko Reviews Elevated Rotary Project at G Corner Junction
Trichy MP Reviews Elevated Rotary Project Status

Trichy MP Durai Vaiko convened a crucial review meeting on Thursday with senior officials from the Trichy railway division and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to assess the progress of the proposed elevated rotary at G Corner junction on the Chennai-Trichy national highway. The meeting aimed to gather detailed insights into the project's current status and identify necessary actions from key stakeholder departments.

Focus on Expediting Administrative Processes

Durai Vaiko emphasized that this review was a preparatory step ahead of his scheduled discussions with Union railway and road transport ministers in New Delhi during the upcoming budget session. He highlighted the collaborative effort required, noting that while NHAI is responsible for constructing the structure, the project hinges on acquiring approximately eight acres of land from the railways.

Key Project Details and Next Steps

The MP stated, "Though NHAI must build the structure, railway land is required to materialise the proposal. I will convey the project status with the respective ministers to expedite the administrative process and start the construction work as early as possible." A detailed project report (DPR) has already been completed, laying the groundwork for the initiative. The primary focus now is on securing the necessary railway land to kickstart construction, with Durai Vaiko committed to facilitating swift approvals through ministerial engagements.

This proactive approach underscores the MP's dedication to improving infrastructure in Trichy, addressing traffic congestion at the busy G Corner junction, and enhancing connectivity on the national highway corridor.
