Trichy MP Durai Vaiko convened a crucial review meeting on Thursday with senior officials from the Trichy railway division and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to assess the progress of the proposed elevated rotary at G Corner junction on the Chennai-Trichy national highway. Durai Vaiko emphasized that this review was a preparatory step ahead of his scheduled discussions with Union railway and road transport ministers in New Delhi during the upcoming budget session. He highlighted the collaborative effort required, noting that while NHAI is responsible for constructing the structure, the project hinges on acquiring approximately eight acres of land from the railways.

The MP stated, "Though NHAI must build the structure, railway land is required to materialise the proposal. I will convey the project status with the respective ministers to expedite the administrative process and start the construction work as early as possible." A detailed project report (DPR) has already been completed, laying the groundwork for the initiative.
