The Uttar Pradesh government will conduct special campaigns in villages where farmer registration has been low, aiming to achieve 100 percent registry of farmers in the state by the April 30 deadline.
Review Meeting and Awareness Campaign
Chief Secretary SP Goyal recently held a review meeting on the status of farmer registration. He directed officials to run extensive awareness campaigns using loudspeakers, advertisements in local newspapers, and active participation of village heads. The goal is to ensure that information reaches every farmer and accelerates the registration process.
Inclusion of All Farmers
Directions have been given to include all farmers in the registration process, regardless of whether they are beneficiaries under the PM Kisan Yojna. A government spokesperson stated, "Farmer ID has been made mandatory in the state from May 15. Without it, farmers will not be able to avail benefits of government agricultural schemes, fertilizers, and seeds."
Digital Crop Survey for Zaid 2026
The Digital Crop Survey for Zaid 2026 will also be conducted within the stipulated timeline. District-level teams will be trained on April 28, while the survey campaign will be conducted across the state from May 1 to May 31. The official added that the Digital Crop Survey will allow for an accurate assessment of crops, which will help in better implementation of schemes.
This initiative is part of the state's broader effort to streamline agricultural support and ensure that all farmers benefit from government programs. The special campaigns are expected to significantly boost registration numbers in the coming weeks.
