Residents across a large part of Visakhapatnam, popularly known as Vizag, are set to face a temporary halt in their drinking water supply this Monday. The disruption is a planned measure by the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) to facilitate crucial pipeline work and maintenance activities.
Reason and Timing of the Water Cut
The civic body has scheduled the installation of flow meters on key pipelines alongside maintenance operations at the Narava water treatment plant. This essential work will lead to a shutdown of regular water supply. GVMC Chief Engineer Pallam Raju confirmed in an official release that the disruption will be in effect from 9 am on Monday.
List of Affected Localities in Vizag
The impact of this maintenance shutdown will be widespread, touching numerous wards across the city. Citizens in the following zones should prepare for the interruption:
Wards 8 to 11: This includes areas such as Arilova, Thatichettapalem, Yendada, and Madhurawada.
Wards 12 to 27: Coverage extends over Old Venkojipalem and its surrounding neighbourhoods.
Wards 28 to 39: Residents in Dasapalla Hills, Salipeta, Allipuram, and nearby localities will be affected.
Wards 41 to 57: This zone covers Railway New Colony, Akkayyapalem, and adjoining areas.

Additionally, the Pendurthi zone will experience the water cut. Specific localities under this zone include:
