A 22-year-old man was stabbed to death on Thursday night in the Didwana-Kuchaman district of Rajasthan following a verbal altercation that erupted into violence during a wedding reception dinner. The deceased has been identified as Sarfaraz, a resident of the Sujangarh area of the district, according to police officials.
Incident Details
The clash, which stemmed from an old rivalry between two groups, occurred around 10:30 pm at the residence of a man named Pappu in Jaswantgarh. Several youths were present at the function. An argument broke out between Sarfaraz and some of the youths, quickly escalating into a physical brawl.
Attack and Aftermath
During the scuffle, one of the youths allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Sarfaraz. He was rushed to the hospital in a blood-soaked condition but was declared dead on arrival by doctors. Police have detained two individuals, both suspected to be minors, and are searching for the remaining accused. A Forensic Science Laboratory team has collected evidence from the scene, and the body has been kept at the mortuary for post-mortem examination.
Family Protests
On Friday, family members staged a protest outside the Ladnun Hospital mortuary, refusing to accept the body until all those involved in the attack are arrested. The deceased was engaged in a plastic tarpaulin business. Police are working to identify and apprehend the remaining suspects and determine who delivered the fatal blow.
