AAP protests in Patiala against fuel price hike

Aam Aadmi Party representatives staged a protest demonstration at Fountain Chowk in Patiala on Friday against the BJP-led central government over the increase in petrol and diesel prices. The protest was led by Tejinder Mehta, the AAP district president and chairman of the district planning committee.

Mehta accuses Centre of burdening common man

Mehta stated that the BJP government at the Centre has been continuously raising petrol and diesel prices, placing a heavy burden of inflation on ordinary citizens. He emphasized that every section of society is affected by rising fuel prices, as essential commodities become more expensive. Mehta alleged that the Centre is robbing people's pockets by making false excuses.

Mayor and other leaders join protest

Patiala mayor Kundan Gogia, who participated in the protest, said that the lives of common people are being adversely impacted by the anti-people policies of the central government. He asserted that the AAP will continue to raise its voice for the rights of the people and that the struggle against inflation will persist. PRTC chairman Harpal Juneja demanded an immediate rollback of the fuel price increase. The protesters also raised slogans against the central government.

The demonstration underscores growing discontent over rising fuel costs, which have led to increased transportation and commodity prices across the region. The AAP has been vocal in criticizing the BJP-led government's economic policies, particularly on fuel taxation and inflation control.
