Agra District Administration Completes Electoral Roll Revision, Publishes Final Voter List
The Agra district administration has officially concluded its comprehensive Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 exercise and published the definitive electoral rolls for all Assembly constituencies within the district. District Magistrate Aravind Mallappa Bangari formally unveiled the final voter list at the Collectorate auditorium on Friday, with representatives from multiple political parties in attendance to witness the significant administrative milestone.
Substantial Voter Database with Demographic Breakdown
Following the extensive revision process, Agra district now boasts a total of 29.6 lakh registered voters meticulously documented in the electoral database. The demographic composition reveals 16.2 lakh male voters, 13.4 lakh female voters, and 82 individuals registered under the third gender category. Official sources confirmed that the revision exercise resulted in the removal of over six lakh names from the previous electoral rolls, ensuring greater accuracy and eliminating outdated entries.
Constituency-Wise Voter Distribution Across Agra
District Magistrate Bangari provided a detailed constituency-wise breakdown of the voter population. Etmadpur (86) leads with 4.2 lakh registered voters, followed by Agra Rural (SC) (90) with 3.7 lakh voters. Agra Cantonment (SC) (87) and Agra North (89) each contain 3.3 lakh voters, matching the count in Fatehpur Sikri (91). Kheragarh (92) registers 3 lakh voters, while Fatehabad (93) and Bah (94) both document 2.9 lakh voters each. Agra South (88) completes the list with 2.7 lakh registered electors.
Public Inspection and Verification Procedures
Officials announced that the finalized electoral rolls will be accessible for public examination without any charges at all polling stations throughout Agra district from April 10 to April 17. Additional copies have been strategically placed at the offices of electoral registration officers (EROs), Assistant EROs, and the district election office for convenient access. Additional District Magistrate (City) and Deputy District Election Officer Yamunadhar Chauhan emphasized that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will maintain presence at their respective polling stations throughout the week-long inspection period to assist citizens with verification processes.
"If a voter discovers their name missing from the published rolls, they can submit an application for inclusion using Form 6," Chauhan clarified. "This form can be submitted either through traditional offline channels or via the Election Commission's official online portal, providing flexibility for citizens."
Appeal Mechanisms and Legal Recourse for Voters
Chauhan further detailed the legal recourse available to voters under the Representation of the People Act, 1950. Individuals can file a first appeal within 15 days of the electoral roll publication directly with the district election officer. Should the decision prove unsatisfactory, a second appeal can be submitted to the chief electoral officer within 30 days of receiving the initial decision, ensuring a structured grievance redressal system.
Extensive Fieldwork and Collaborative Verification Process
District Magistrate Bangari highlighted the magnitude of the revision exercise, which commenced on October 27 of the previous year and required 166 days of intensive fieldwork to complete. "Over 3,900 dedicated Booth Level Officers, 394 supervisors, 288 assistant electoral registration officers, and nine electoral registration officers participated diligently in this massive undertaking," Bangari explained. "Their efforts were complemented by more than 13,000 booth-level agents representing various political parties, creating a collaborative framework that enhanced both accuracy and transparency throughout the verification process."
The publication of these finalized electoral rolls represents a crucial preparatory step ahead of upcoming elections, ensuring that Agra's voter database reflects current residential patterns and eligibility criteria while maintaining democratic integrity through comprehensive verification mechanisms.
