AIADMK leader and former minister P Thangamani has launched a scathing attack on the ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu, accusing it of engaging in widespread corruption while neglecting development projects across the state. Thangamani, who is the AIADMK's candidate for the Kumarapalayam assembly constituency in Namakkal district, made these remarks on Wednesday as he began his election campaign.
Campaign Kickoff with Temple Visit and Public Rallies
The campaign commenced with Thangamani offering prayers at the ancient Easwaran Shiva temple located near Samaya Sangili. Following this spiritual start, he actively campaigned in several key areas, including MGR Nagar, Madurai Veeran Koil, Sulli Medu, and Asari Kadu, connecting directly with voters and outlining his party's vision.
Allegations of Corruption and Stalled Development
During his campaign speeches, Thangamani strongly criticized the DMK administration, asserting that it has spent the past five years indulging in corrupt practices without initiating or completing any significant development projects. He emphasized that this lack of progress has adversely affected the state's growth and the welfare of its citizens.
Rising Safety Concerns and Social Issues
Thangamani also highlighted pressing social issues, stating that women and children are increasingly unsafe under the current government. He pointed to a worrying rise in drug abuse among children and noted that murders are occurring frequently, indicating a breakdown in law and order. These concerns, he argued, reflect the government's failure to address critical public safety and health matters.
The AIADMK leader's campaign is focused on holding the DMK accountable for what he describes as years of mismanagement and corruption, while promising better governance and development if elected.
