Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a blistering attack on the Trinamool Congress and Congress during a public rally in Tehatta, Nadia, as part of the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026 campaign. Addressing a large crowd, Shah declared that the TMC's time is over and accused the party of allowing infiltration to flourish in the state.
Counter-Terror Operations Highlighted
Shah highlighted the Modi government's successful counter-terror operations, including surgical strikes and airstrikes, claiming that terrorism and Naxalism have been significantly reduced in the country. He contrasted this with the situation in West Bengal, where he alleged infiltration remains a major concern.
Strict Action Promised
The Home Minister assured that if the BJP forms the government, strict action would be taken against infiltrators. He promised to remove alleged infiltrators from voter lists and take further measures to secure the state. Shah urged voters to support the BJP for stronger governance and enhanced security.
Shah's remarks come amid escalating political rhetoric in the run-up to the assembly elections. The BJP has been focusing on issues of national security and infiltration as key campaign themes in West Bengal.
