Annamalai Criticizes DMK's Governance, Raises Key Concerns in Campaign
Former Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai, during his statewide campaign on Saturday, highlighted that citizens have been voicing critical issues such as the urgent need to curb drug abuse, improve the quality of government schools, and enhance road infrastructure. He strongly alleged that the ruling DMK government has consistently failed to address these pressing concerns, leaving the public dissatisfied.
Allegations of Corruption and Inaction
Referring to what he termed the "DMK Files," Annamalai disclosed that he had submitted formal complaints to the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC). He noted that officials visited the BJP office to conduct inquiries, as reported by ANI. Annamalai further alleged a significant corruption scam involving a minister, amounting to Rs 160 crore, claiming he provided supporting evidence. According to him, a Deputy Superintendent of Police from the DVAC conducted an inquiry at the party office, but no action has been taken so far, which he attributes to the current administration's inefficacy.
Expressing confidence in future accountability, Annamalai stated that strict actions, including thorough investigations, would follow once there is a change in government, implying that the upcoming elections could pave the way for justice.
Condemnation of Film Leak and Political Predictions
On the unfortunate leak of the film Jananayagan, Annamalai condemned the incident, emphasizing that the movie represents the hard work of numerous individuals. He demanded strict action against those responsible and expressed willingness to support a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe if necessary. Additionally, he mentioned his intention to watch the film as a fan upon its release, showing solidarity with the entertainment industry.
Looking ahead to the 2026 Assembly elections, Annamalai predicted that a defeat for the DMK could trigger significant political shifts within the party. He suggested that Kanimozhi might consider floating a separate political outfit, while Chief Minister M.K. Stalin could embark on a different political path. Annamalai also alleged that Senthil Balaji would act based on political opportunities, asserting that a victory for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would ensure the DMK does not return to power. He further claimed that Senthil Balaji would face a historic defeat in the Coimbatore South constituency, underscoring the BJP's confidence in the electoral battle.
Upcoming Tamil Nadu Elections Overview

This election season is crucial as parties address key issues and allegations, with Annamalai's statements reflecting the intense political discourse and public expectations for change in Tamil Nadu.
