Andhra Pradesh Government to Institutionalize Annual Job Calendar on Ugadi Festival
In a significant move aimed at bolstering youth employment, the Andhra Pradesh government has announced the launch of an annual job calendar, set to be released this Thursday to coincide with the Ugadi festival celebrations. IT & HRD Minister Nara Lokesh made this pivotal announcement on Wednesday, emphasizing that this initiative will become a permanent fixture, with the calendar being unveiled every Ugadi henceforth. Comprehensive Recruitment Schedule with 20,000 Vacancies
The upcoming job calendar is expected to outline a detailed schedule for filling a wide array of government positions. According to official sources, it will encompass vacancies across various departments, including highly sought-after roles such as Group I and Group II services, teachers under the District Selection Committee (DSC), police constables, and positions within universities. Preliminary estimates suggest that approximately 20,000 vacancies will be featured in this inaugural calendar, marking a substantial effort to address unemployment and streamline the hiring process.
Minister Lokesh Highlights Ongoing Employment Efforts
Speaking at an interactive session with beneficiaries of the 'Divyang Shakti' scheme, Minister Nara Lokesh provided insights into the government's broader employment strategy. He revealed that the administration has already successfully filled around 16,000 teacher posts through the DSC recruitment drive, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing the education sector. Lokesh further assured that the government will continue to generate job opportunities not only through public recruitment but also by fostering private sector investments.
In a related development aimed at boosting the technology sector, the minister disclosed plans for IT expansion in the region. Specifically, about 75 acres of land are being acquired at Kaza in Mangalagiri to facilitate this growth, which is anticipated to create additional employment avenues in the IT and allied industries.
