Bengaluru Extends Voter Verification Drive by Three Weeks for Roll Accuracy
Bengaluru Extends Voter Verification Drive by 3 Weeks

The Bengaluru district administration has announced a three-week extension for its electoral roll verification drive. This crucial exercise aims to ensure the accuracy of voter lists by comparing the 2002 electoral roll with the current 2025 voters' list.

Door-to-Door Verification Efforts

Bengaluru Urban deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha confirmed that the verification process is actively underway across all seven assembly constituencies in the district. Following strict guidelines from the Election Commission of India, booth-level officers are conducting systematic door-to-door visits.

Correcting Discrepancies in Voter Details

During these visits, BLOs focus on collecting information from voters whose details in the 2002 roll do not match the 2025 list. They use two primary methods to correct these discrepancies:

  • Utilizing the dedicated 'BLO App' for immediate digital updates
  • Collecting Form-8 applications directly from voters for manual processing

Deputy Commissioner Jagadeesha has made a strong appeal to district residents. He urges full cooperation with BLOs during their verification visits. Providing accurate information is essential for maintaining precise electoral rolls.

Self-Correction Options for Voters

Voters are not limited to BLO visits for correcting their details. The Election Commission provides multiple self-service options:

  1. Submit Form-8 through the National Voters' Service Portal
  2. Use the 'Book a call with BLO' feature on the same portal to resolve specific queries

These digital alternatives offer convenient ways for voters to ensure their electoral information remains current and accurate without waiting for official visits.
