Patna: Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary issued a stern warning to officials on Monday, stating that any laxity or negligence in passing orders on files within 30 days would lead to automatic suspension on the 31st day. The warning came during the launch of the Sahyog portal and helpline number 1100, aimed at ensuring prompt resolution of public grievances.
Sahyog Portal and Helpline
The portal and helpline were introduced to streamline grievance redressal for the citizens of Bihar. “Any resident of Bihar can easily register their complaint on this portal. The portal has been designed with simplicity in mind, ensuring that even the common person can utilise it without difficulty. Upon registering a complaint, individuals will receive a unique registration ID, enabling them to track the real-time status of their grievance,” the Chief Minister said.
Monitoring and Accountability
Choudhary also announced that the state government will monitor CCTV cameras to be installed in police stations, blocks, and circle offices. He emphasized that delays in file processing would not be tolerated. “If an order regarding a file is not issued within the 30-day period, the official concerned will face suspension the very next day,” he stated at the event, which was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav and ministers Nitish Mishra and Shrawan Kumar.
Panchayat-Level Camps
Under the state government’s ‘Respect for All, Ease of Living’ campaign, officials will organize two-day camps at the panchayat level on the first and third Tuesdays of every month. District Magistrates (DMs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) will monitor implementation in their respective districts. “Everything will be closely monitored further from Patna. Land-related disputes frequently arise, often resulting in delays in resolving such cases. For years, many citizens have been forced to make endless rounds of government offices,” Samrat said.
Land Disputes and Crime
The Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the process and resolve people’s grievances, noting that 60% of all murder cases in the state are linked to land disputes. He further instructed DMs and SPs to ensure that the general public faces no inconvenience.
