In a significant visit on Thursday, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary made his way to the revered Takhat Shri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib, where he solemnly reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the ongoing development and enhancement of this sacred Sikh shrine. This marked his first official visit to the gurdwara since assuming the role of the state's top executive, underscoring the importance of religious sites in Bihar's cultural and spiritual landscape.
Discussions on Progress and Future Initiatives
During his visit, Chief Minister Samrat engaged in detailed discussions with the management committee of the gurdwara. He reviewed the progress made in Bihar and specifically at the shrine during the tenure of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Samrat assured the committee members that his administration would continue to work diligently for the progress and comprehensive development of this religious site, emphasizing a seamless transition of support under the new leadership.
The management committee, led by President Jagjot Singh Sohi and General Secretary Inderjeet Singh, expressed confidence that the state government's cooperation would persist. They highlighted Samrat's personal devotion to the Guru's house, noting his earlier visits to the shrine and his deep respect for Sikh traditions.
Honors and Spiritual Observances
As a gesture of honor and respect, Jathedar Singh Sahib Giani Baldev Singh presented Chief Minister Samrat with a traditional siropa, a robe of honor in Sikh culture. Additionally, the management committee gifted him a sword, a memento, and a book on Sikh history, symbolizing the community's appreciation and trust in his leadership.
Samrat took part in spiritual observances during the visit, offering prayers at the sacred Jora Sahib of Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Kaur. He also visited the holy well of Mata Gujri, immersing himself in the sanctity of the site. Reflecting on the experience, he later posted on social media platform X, stating, "I paid my obeisance and offered my prayers at the sacred shrine of Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib. The sanctity of this divine site and the grace of the Guru bestowed upon my mind a sense of boundless peace, energy, and renewed inspiration for public service. Praying to Waheguru for the happiness, prosperity, and good health of all the people of Bihar, I resolved to dedicate myself to the creation of a strong and prosperous Bihar."

In his assurances to the management committee, Chief Minister Samrat prioritized all ongoing projects related to devotee facilities at the shrine. He emphasized the need to enhance infrastructure to better accommodate the influx of pilgrims arriving from across India and abroad.
