Bihar CM's Sahyog Camps Draw Mixed Reactions from NDA, RJD

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) functionaries on Tuesday extended their support to the 'Sahyog' camps launched by Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary from Saran, aimed at addressing public grievances at the panchayat level. However, the opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) dismissed the initiative as a 'political stunt'.

Deputy CM Praises Initiative

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary described the programme as a unique democratic initiative where the administration directly reaches out to the people. He distributed symbolic cheques, sanction letters, and documents related to various welfare schemes among the beneficiaries. Addressing a gathering in Patna district, he stated that thousands of people participated in the camps and appreciated the initiative.

BJP Leader's Remarks

In Muzaffarpur, BJP leader and minister Dilip Jaiswal said the government remained committed to building a crime-free and corruption-free Bihar. He emphasized, 'Only when the morale of criminal elements is broken will crime truly cease and the police also find it easier to curb criminal activity.'

RJD's Criticism

However, RJD spokesperson Mritunjay Tiwary questioned the government's intentions and termed the programme an attempt to 'pull the wool over the public's eyes'. He alleged that the government had failed to tackle inflation, unemployment, and deteriorating law and order, and was organizing such programmes merely to divert attention from its shortcomings.

The camps have thus sparked a political debate, with the ruling NDA hailing them as a step towards grassroots governance and the opposition viewing them as a facade to mask administrative failures.
