The Bihar government on Saturday released the list of district in-charge ministers after the recent cabinet expansion. The new appointments aim to streamline administrative work and ensure better coordination between the state government and districts.
Full List of District In-Charge Ministers
According to the official notification, the following ministers have been assigned districts:
- Vijay Kumar Choudhary – Patna
- Bima Bharti – Purnia
- Biju Prasad Yadav – Gaya
- Shravan Kumar – Bhagalpur
- Narendra Narayan Yadav – Madhubani
- Sanjay Kumar Jha – Muzaffarpur
- Rama Singh – Bhojpur
- Jama Khan – Katihar
- Sudhakar Singh – Rohtas
- Ashok Choudhary – Nalanda
Objective Behind the Move
The state government stated that this step will help in monitoring development schemes, law and order, and grievance redressal at the district level. Each minister will be responsible for coordinating with district officials and reporting back to the chief minister.
Reactions from Political Circles
While ruling party leaders welcomed the move, opposition parties criticized it as a mere political exercise. Congress spokesperson said, "This is just a way to keep ministers busy; real issues like unemployment and inflation remain unaddressed."
The cabinet expansion took place earlier this week, with several new faces inducted into the Nitish Kumar-led government. The reshuffle is seen as an attempt to balance caste equations and strengthen the ruling coalition ahead of the 2025 assembly elections.
