BJP Mobilizes Frontal Organizations to Address LPG Supply Issues in Rajasthan
In response to ongoing disruptions in LPG supply, the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday issued directives to the presidents of its nine frontal organizations. The leaders were instructed to actively assist people facing difficulties and help ensure that cooking gas reaches consumers without major interruptions.
Coordination and Monitoring Efforts
Party leaders emphasized that workers should coordinate closely with local authorities and distribution agencies. This collaboration aims to guarantee that households, particularly those with needy consumers, continue to receive LPG cylinders during the current supply crunch. Additionally, BJP cadres were tasked with keeping a vigilant watch on potential incidents of hoarding or black marketing of LPG cylinders, reporting any such activities to the relevant authorities promptly.
Political Accusations and Rebuttals
State BJP president Madan Rathore launched a strong critique against the Congress party, accusing it of spreading panic among the public. Rathore labeled Congress claims about shortages of LPG, fuel, and essential commodities in Rajasthan as "misleading." In a statement, he asserted, "There is no shortage of gas, oil, or food items in the state. The Congress is spreading false information and creating an atmosphere of fear among people, which is its old political style."
Rathore further explained that the state government has reviewed the supply situation and directed officials to ensure smooth distribution. He highlighted that over 61 lakh families in Rajasthan are benefiting from LPG cylinders priced at Rs 450 under a state government scheme. As a precautionary measure, refiners have been asked to increase production to bolster supply chains.
Response to Opposition Leaders
Addressing statements made by Congress leaders, including state party chief Govind Singh Dotasra and Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully, Rathore accused them of making allegations without verifying facts. He stated, "Congress leaders try to find political opportunities even during crises. Instead of cooperating in challenging situations, they attempt to scare people for political gains."

Rathore acknowledged that global tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States have created supply-chain challenges. However, he reassured that the impact in India remains limited due to the Centre's preparedness and proactive measures. This context underscores the broader geopolitical factors influencing local supply issues, while emphasizing the government's efforts to mitigate disruptions.
