BJP Celebrates 47th Foundation Day in Madhya Pradesh with Virtual Ceremonies

In Bhopal, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) marked its 47th foundation day with significant ceremonies led by top state leaders. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, State BJP President Hemant Khandelwal, and Regional Organisational General Secretary Ajay Jamwal participated in flag-hoisting at the state office and conducted virtual foundation stone-laying events for new party office buildings across 14 districts.

Chief Minister Highlights Ideological Journey and Farmer Support

Addressing party workers, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized the importance of the day, noting the simultaneous commencement of construction at three district offices alongside the foundation ceremonies for 14 others. "Today is significant for all of us," Yadav stated, "with the foundation stone laying ceremony for 14 district offices and the commencement of work at three district offices simultaneously."

Yadav described the BJP's journey as not merely political but ideological and spiritual, asserting that every party worker contributes as a divine duty. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership for grounding the party's ideals, goals, and methods in nationalism. "In the global political landscape, when most political parties were focused on self-interest and power, we were faced with the question of the direction of politics," he remarked.

Reflecting on post-independence challenges, Yadav explained that India navigated between communism and capitalism, with the BJP choosing patriotism and dedication. "Many people even mocked us, but we ignored them. Respecting their sentiments, we remained steadfast in Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya's belief that our nation cannot be limited to mere material development," he added.

Response to Opposition and Agricultural Achievements

Amid criticism from the opposition Congress regarding farmer issues and alleged delays in wheat acquisition, Yadav defended his government's record. He highlighted that under Congress rule, Madhya Pradesh had 7.5 lakh hectares of irrigated land, which has now expanded to 5.5 lakh hectares. "Before 2003, during the Congress rule in the state, wheat was purchased only nominally at the support price," Yadav noted.

Announcing a key initiative, Yadav revealed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the state BJP government will commence wheat procurement at Rs 2625 per quintal starting April 10. "It is our commitment that the govt will first purchase wheat from small farmers," he affirmed, underscoring the administration's focus on agricultural welfare.

State BJP President Reflects on Historical Legacy and Future Vision

State BJP President Hemant Khandelwal characterized April 6 as more than just a foundation day, celebrating the hard work, sacrifice, and determination of party workers. "BJP is not a party of power, but an organization on a journey of ideas and faith," he asserted.

Khandelwal traced the party's ideological roots to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, further developed by Pt Deendayal Upadhyay, Kushabhau Thakre, and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He praised current leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and National President Nitin Naveen, for advancing the organization's work.

Emphasizing consistency in ideology since 1952, Khandelwal pointed to historical milestones such as the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and the enactment of a law against triple talaq. "In 1985, we held only two seats. However, our vision in 1952 has never wavered," he argued, highlighting the party's enduring commitment to its core principles.
