BJP Leader Condemns MLA's Controversial House Visit
Senior BJP leader Chandrashekhar Bawankule has strongly criticized Shiv Sena (Shinde) MLA Nilesh Rane's Wednesday visit to a BJP member's residence in Malvan, labeling it as an invasion of privacy. The incident occurred against the backdrop of ongoing elections and allegations of cash distribution.
The controversial visit saw MLA Nilesh Rane entering the Malvan house and questioning the presence of substantial cash found in a bedroom. A viral video capturing the incident shows Rane walking through the property and confronting occupants about the money.
Privacy Concerns and Political Dynamics
Bawankule expressed serious concerns about the manner of the investigation, stating, "I wonder how justified it is to enter someone's bedroom; isn't it an invasion of privacy?" He emphasized that while the origin of the cash could be investigated through proper channels, the method employed was unacceptable.
The BJP leader's criticism came with measured language, likely influenced by the complex political relationships involved. Nilesh Rane's brother, Nitesh Rane, serves as both a party and cabinet colleague in the current administration. Furthermore, their father, Narayan Rane - a former Chief Minister and ex-Union cabinet minister - represents BJP as a Lok Sabha member from the region.
Bawankule suggested alternative explanations for the cash discovery, noting "the cash found inside the house could have come from business, or some sale of property, etc." He maintained that appropriate authorities like the Election Commission of India or police should handle such investigations through proper channels.
Mahayuti Alliance Unity Amidst Speculation
Addressing reports of internal conflicts within the Mahayuti alliance, Bawankule dismissed speculation about significant rifts. "When local body polls are held, such incidents happen at the ground level. But there is no rift; all leaders are in constant contact with each other, and Mahayuti will contest the polls together," he affirmed.
When questioned specifically about violent clashes among local workers, the BJP leader took a firm stance: "We will not let our state turn into the Bihar and UP of 20 years ago. There are some misunderstandings, but such things happen."
Credit Claims Over Ladki Bahin Scheme
The political discourse also touched upon the Ladki Bahin scheme, with Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reportedly claiming credit for the initiative during election rallies. Bawankule clarified that the decision was a collective effort involving multiple leaders.
"The decision for this scheme was a collective one. Shinde, Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar were all equally involved in taking the decision which benefited our sisters," he stated, emphasizing the collaborative nature of the governance.
This position was reinforced by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who on Wednesday described the state's flagship Ladki Bahin scheme as a "Mahayuti government initiative" that doesn't belong to any single alliance partner.
The incident highlights the ongoing political tensions in Maharashtra as election activities intensify, with parties navigating complex alliances while addressing allegations and maintaining public trust.
