Amritsar witnessed a significant protest on Saturday as BJP leaders and workers took to the streets against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The protest was triggered by Mann's alleged remarks connecting recent bomb blasts in Amritsar and Jalandhar to the saffron party.
Protest Details
BJP district president Harwinder Singh Sandhu stated that a memorandum was submitted to the police commissioner, demanding the registration of an FIR against the Chief Minister. The protest march commenced from Rani Ka Bagh and proceeded to the police commissioner's office.
During the march, a large number of BJP workers carried flags and banners, raising slogans against the state government. Upon reaching the police commissioner's office, party leaders submitted the memorandum and called for an impartial investigation into Mann's statements.
Allegations Against CM
Sandhu condemned Mann's remarks, calling them extremely irresponsible and baseless. He accused the Chief Minister of attempting to link incidents such as bomb blasts occurring in Punjab with the BJP, which he claimed was a deliberate attempt to divert attention from the government's failures.
The BJP leaders emphasized that such statements undermine public safety and demanded legal action against Mann for his alleged comments.
