The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has significantly reinforced its authority over Pune's civic administration by securing the chairmanship of a commanding 13 out of 15 ward committees. This development follows the party's decisive majority victory in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections held in January, marking a substantial consolidation of its political and administrative influence in the city.

On Tuesday, the official names of the chairpersons for all 15 ward committees were formally announced. In a notable display of dominance, the BJP candidates were declared unopposed in 13 of these committees, underscoring the party's stronghold. Specifically, the NCP won the election for the Dhole Patil Road ward committee, with party corporator Surekha Kawde being appointed as its chairperson.
