A vegetable vendor in Chandigarh displayed remarkable presence of mind and courage when he chased away three bike-borne snatchers who had robbed him in Sector 38. The quick-thinking vendor managed to force the accused to abandon their motorcycle at the scene of the crime.

Incident Details

According to the complaint filed by Dushyant, a resident of Dadumajra Colony, he was selling vegetables in Sector 38 on Tuesday when three men on a motorcycle approached his cart. The accused overpowered him and snatched approximately Rs 1,500, a mobile phone, and some documents. As the trio attempted to flee the scene, the vendor gave chase, prompting the snatchers to escape on foot and leave their bike behind.

Police Involvement

Dushyant later handed over the motorcycle to the police. He alerted the authorities through the 112 helpline with the assistance of passersby. A police team from Maloya police station arrived at the spot, seized the vehicle, and recorded the vendor's statement. The police are currently scanning CCTV footage from the area to identify the accused and verify the sequence of events.
