BRS Leader KTR Vows to Oppose Tree Felling in KBR Park

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao stated that the party would oppose the felling of trees in KBR Park and any attempts to harm the environment. The affected owners of the KBR Park road widening project met KTR at his residence on Thursday evening, appealing to him to resist efforts to cut down a large number of trees around the park, especially in light of the Supreme Court's verdict, and to protect KBR Park.

KTR's Stand on Environmental Protection

After hearing the representatives' appeal, KTR emphasized that KBR Park is an extremely valuable 'lung space' for Hyderabad. He stressed the need to democratically and legally oppose any actions that destroy such greenery. KTR noted that during the previous BRS government's tenure, alternative plans were prepared on an underground basis to avoid disturbing KBR Park and its trees. He recalled that those plans are still available with the municipal administration department.

Development and Environment Can Coexist

KTR opined that destroying the environment in the name of development is not the right approach. He asserted that development and environmental protection can both be harmonised through technology and comprehensive planning. He urged the government to consider the public's concerns about tree felling around KBR Park.
