KCR Announces BRS Agitation for Telangana's Krishna Water Share, Slams Congress Govt
BRS to Launch Agitation for Telangana's Krishna Water Rights

In a significant political move, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has declared that his party will spearhead a massive people's movement to secure Telangana's rightful share in the Krishna river waters and to push for the completion of the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS). The agitation plans are set to be finalized within the next three to four days.

BRS to Expose Govt Apathy Through Public Meetings

Addressing the media after a crucial meeting of the party's state executive, legislature party, and parliamentary party at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad on Sunday, KCR outlined the party's strategy. The BRS will organize public meetings in the districts of Mahabubnagar, Rangareddy, and Nalgonda to "expose" the alleged indifference of both the Congress-led state government and the Central government.

"BRS will not compromise on Telangana interests as the party was born for the sole purpose of protecting the interests of the Telangana people. We will not rest and not allow the state govt and the Centre to rest on the issue," KCR asserted, vowing to protect the state's interests.

KCR Launches Scathing Attack on Congress Governance

The former CM launched a fierce critique of the current administration, accusing the Congress government of functioning like a "real estate company" solely engaged in selling government land. He contrasted this with the BRS tenure, claiming it witnessed a real estate boom where land prices soared to as high as Rs 50 lakh per acre in some areas, fostering confidence among people and farmers.

"Now, the land rates crashed after Congress came into power two years ago, and there are no buyers for land," he alleged. He specifically ridiculed the government's 'Bharat Future City' project, questioning its legitimacy. KCR revealed that the previous BRS government had identified 20,000 acres for a dedicated Hyderabad Pharma City, with 14,000 acres already acquired conditionally for that specific purpose. "Now, the Congress govt is talking about the Future City, making it a real estate city," he charged.

Doubts on Investments and Critique of Leadership

KCR also expressed skepticism about the Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed during the recent Global Investors Summit, doubting how many would materialize. He drew a parallel with similar investment summits in Andhra Pradesh a few years ago, where he claimed only 20% to 30% of projects attracted actual investment, labeling the rest as "bogus."

"It appears the present CM (Revanth Reddy) is adopting the methods of his guru and AP CM Chandrababu Naidu in investments," he remarked. In contrast, he highlighted the BRS government's industrial policy, under which software exports reportedly grew from Rs 50,000 crore to Rs 2.45 lakh crore.

Accusing the Congress of coming to power on "false promises," KCR stated that the government has backtracked on all its 420 assurances. He criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for having "only one agenda: 'abusing KCR' in every meeting," and questioned the government's achievements in its two-year tenure. "The state government is fast losing its credibility and people are realising it now," KCR concluded.
