In a significant breakthrough, the Byndoor police have arrested a 23-year-old man from Rajasthan and recovered Rs 6 lakh in stolen cash in connection with a house burglary case. The accused, identified as Mahendra Sain from Jodhpur, was taken into custody following a special operation carried out by a dedicated police team, officials confirmed.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, the theft occurred between 3 pm and 10 pm on April 23 at a rented house located behind the SBI Bank in Yadtare village, Byndoor. The house belonged to Rawal Singh, a native of Rajasthan. Taking advantage of the occupants' absence, the accused allegedly broke open the front door lock, entered the premises, and stole Rs 6 lakh in cash that was kept in a cupboard.
Legal Action and Investigation
Based on a complaint filed by the victim, the Byndoor police registered a case under sections 331(3), 331(4), and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation was led by Byndoor Circle Inspector (CI) Shivakumar B. Police revealed that the accused had been staying in a rented house behind a garment shop in Byndoor.
Arrest and Recovery
A special team comprising PSI Sunil Kumar BY, Naveen Borakar, and other personnel traced and apprehended the accused on Thursday. During the operation, the police recovered the entire stolen cash of Rs 6 lakh from his possession. Further investigation is underway to determine if the accused was involved in similar crimes in the area.
