Chandigarh Woman Dies by Suicide in Maulijagran; Police Rule Out Foul Play
A 21-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide at Charan Colony in Maulijagran, Chandigarh, on Monday night. The deceased has been identified as Nisha, a resident of the area. Police officials confirmed that no suicide note was recovered from the spot, and they have ruled out any foul play at this stage.

On Monday night, police received information about a woman who had hanged herself in Charan Singh Colony. A PCR team and officers from the Maulijagran police station immediately rushed to the location. Upon arrival, they found Nisha and promptly transported her to GMCH-32 for medical attention. Unfortunately, doctors declared her dead on arrival, confirming the tragic outcome.
The victim's grandfather provided a statement to the authorities, shedding light on the events leading up to the incident. He mentioned that he was sitting outside the house at the time. According to him, Nisha had quit her job approximately two months ago. On the day of the incident, she appeared to be perfectly fine during the daytime. After finishing her work at night, she went to her room but did not return. When family members checked on her, they discovered her hanging from a ceiling fan.

Maulijagran police have conducted a preliminary investigation and stated that there is no evidence of foul play. However, they emphasized that the exact cause of death will be determined only after receiving the autopsy report.
