In a sharp political attack, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday accused the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government of looting the state and asserted that the Congress regime has already brought "good days" to the people.
'Hunger for Power Remains': CM's Scathing Attack
Addressing a public meeting in Devarakonda of Nalgonda district, CM Reddy launched a broadside against former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. He warned that if given another opportunity, the BRS would further loot Telangana as their "hunger for power and money has not died down" even after consecutive electoral defeats.
"People punished them for looting the state for 10 years in the assembly, Lok Sabha, and Jubilee Hills by-elections. Yet, KCR is aspiring to come to power again," Revanth Reddy alleged. He further claimed that KCR's son "is enough to spell doom to his political career."
Congress Delivers 'Good Days' with Welfare Schemes
Countering a recent comment by KCR that "good days will return soon," the Chief Minister declared that prosperous days have already arrived under the Congress government. He listed a series of implemented welfare measures as proof.
"Be it Indiramma houses, 200 units free electricity, Rs 2 lakh crop loan waiver, new ration cards, Rs 12,000 per annum Rythu Bharosa, Rs 500 gas cylinder, free bus travel for women, interest-free loans to women — good days have already come," he stated emphatically.
He highlighted that the Congress government is providing fine rice, a benefit not even extended by some BJP-ruled states. Reddy accused the BRS leadership of having no genuine love for the poor, citing their "empty promises" of 2-BHK housing units. In contrast, he said his government has done justice to farmers, women, students, and youth.
Development Promises for Devarakonda & Nalgonda
The Chief Minister made several assurances for the development of the Devarakonda region and Nalgonda district. He promised that his administration is determined to complete key irrigation projects.
"Even if KCR and Harish Rao jump into Nagarjunasagar, this government is determined to complete the irrigation projects," he said, referring to the SLBC project, including the tunnel, and the Dindi project during its current term.
He announced a Rs 6 crore grant for the school where former Union minister S Jaipal Reddy studied in Devarakonda. Other pledges included taking personal responsibility for completing the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, granting a nursing college to Devarakonda, and installing the statue of Sant Sevalal Maharaj in Maddimadugu.
Appeal to Elect Supportive Local Representatives
Revanth Reddy appealed to the public to elect "good sarpanches and ward members" who would work in coordination with the incumbent state government. He urged voters not to fall prey to the lures of "betrayers," whom they had already punished in three successive elections.
He concluded by reiterating that the previous BRS government left the state with a massive debt burden exceeding Rs 8 lakh crore, and the Congress is now working to restore the state's finances and dignity for the poor.
