In a decisive move to ensure the grandeur and cultural integrity of a major tribal festival, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has issued strict instructions to state officials. The directives focus on the upcoming development works for the Medaram temple and the renowned Medaram Jatara.

CM's Directives for Quality and Cultural Preservation

During a high-level review meeting held on Monday, the Chief Minister emphasized that all construction and development activities must strictly adhere to predefined quality standards. He made it explicitly clear that the unique tribal culture and traditions must be authentically reflected in every aspect of the project. This move aims to preserve the sacred essence of the site while upgrading its infrastructure.

CM Revanth Reddy specifically instructed officials, particularly engineers from the concerned departments, to conduct regular field visits. He stressed the importance of personal monitoring of the progress to avoid any lapses. The Chief Minister issued a stern warning, stating that stringent disciplinary action would be taken against any official found neglecting their duties in this crucial project.

Key Development Areas Under Scrutiny

The review covered several critical infrastructure components essential for managing the massive influx of devotees. The CM gave specific directions concerning:

  • The development and maintenance of the road network leading to and around the site.
  • The execution of stone works and other structural elements.
  • The strategic installation of electricity poles for adequate illumination.
  • Planning clear and safe routes for devotees' movement around the sacred platforms, known locally as 'Gaddelu'.
  • Creating sufficient and comfortable waiting areas for pilgrims.

During a detailed power-point presentation, the CM suggested several precautionary measures to streamline the work. He emphasized the need for seamless coordination between multiple government departments to ensure timely completion. The Roads & Buildings (R&B), Electricity, Endowment, and Forest departments have been tasked to work in unison. Notably, historian E Sivanagi Reddy has also been included in the coordination group to provide cultural and historical insights.
