CM Yogi Adityanath Inspects Key Infrastructure in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday inspected ongoing infrastructure works, including a four-lane road project from Domingarh–Madhopur embankment to Mahesra bridge and a rail overbridge (ROB) under construction in Domingarh.

Review of Multiple Stretches

Reviewing multiple stretches, the CM also assessed progress of the four-lane road connecting Rajghat bridge via Habert embankment through Domingarh, Koliya and Gahasaad embankments to the Jungle Kaudiya–Kalesar road.

Importance of Projects

Calling the projects crucial for improving traffic flow and flood control, he directed officials to expedite work and ensure timely completion. After attending a programme involving projects worth Rs 1,055 crore, the CM reached the site and first reviewed the design and progress near Laldiggi, instructing the public works department to accelerate execution.

Deadline Advancement and Beautification

During a subsequent inspection at Ilahibagh, he advanced the project deadline from September 2026 to July 2026. He also directed beautification of the Mahesra-end stretch, suggesting the development of an eco-park-like space near a water body currently used for dumping waste.

Inspection at Domingarh

At Domingarh, the CM inspected the ongoing ROB on Jagatbela–Domingarh rail section and interacted with locals. He said the emerging infrastructure network would significantly improve connectivity and help mitigate flood risks in surrounding areas. He added that the new four-lane network would facilitate direct movement towards Nepal-bound routes, reducing congestion within the city.

Project Details and Costs

Officials said the 10.2-km road project up to Mahesra bridge is being constructed at a cost of Rs 379.54 crore, while another 4.07-km stretch is nearing completion. The 755-metre-long ROB, estimated at Rs 132.6 crore, is targeted for completion by December 2027.
