Congress Plans Intensive 10-Day Campaign to Expose BJP in Davanagere South
Congress legislative council chief whip Saleem Ahmad has declared that his party will launch a focused campaign to expose the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) before voters in the Davanagere South assembly constituency over the next ten days. Speaking to reporters in Davanagere on Monday, Ahmad accused the BJP-led central government of spreading falsehoods for the past twelve years.
Allegations of Unfulfilled Promises and Deception
Saleem Ahmad charged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government have failed to deliver on key pledges made when they assumed power over a decade ago. He specifically highlighted three major unfulfilled commitments: the failure to bring back black money stashed abroad, the inability to generate 2.5 crore jobs as promised, and the shortfall in doubling farmers' income. "We will make people aware of this and expose the BJP before voters in Davanagere South assembly constituency," Ahmad asserted, emphasizing that the Congress aims to educate the electorate about these shortcomings.
Campaign Strategy and Party Responsibilities
When questioned about whether senior leader Zameer Ahmad would participate in the campaign, Saleem Ahmad responded by underscoring the collective duty of Congress workers. "There is no need to invite anyone for campaigning. It is the duty of every Congress worker to come and campaign for the party's victory," he stated. He drew a parallel to his own experience, noting that Minister Mallikarjun did not extend invitations either, yet party members fulfill their responsibilities as assigned. Ahmad urged all party members to recognize their roles and contribute actively to ensure success in the upcoming electoral battle.
The announcement signals a strategic move by the Congress to intensify its outreach in Davanagere South, leveraging allegations of unmet promises to sway voter sentiment. With the campaign set to unfold rapidly, political observers are keenly watching how this effort will impact the constituency's dynamics in the lead-up to the elections.
