Congress Sweeps Telangana Polls, AICC Sets Review Meeting

Congress Proves Unbeatable in Telangana with String of Electoral Victories

In a significant political development, Telangana Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud declared on Wednesday that the party's consistent success across various elections demonstrates its unrivaled position in the state. Speaking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad, Goud emphasized that the Congress' winning momentum, spanning from the Jubilee Hills bypoll to panchayat and recent municipal elections, underscores the absence of any viable alternative to the party in Telangana.

AICC Leadership to Conduct In-Depth Review of Telangana Performance

Goud announced that a high-level review meeting is scheduled for Thursday, featuring prominent AICC figures including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and KC Venugopal. This session will involve Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, state ministers, and the TPCC president to thoroughly evaluate the party's electoral performance and organizational strength. He noted that the AICC has already completed assessments for 11 other states, with discussions centered on party structure, governance effectiveness, and welfare program implementation. Additional topics are expected to be addressed with the Telangana delegation during the upcoming review.

Strong Backing from BC Community and Inclusive Candidate Selection

The Congress leader highlighted robust support from the Backward Classes (BC) community, attributing it to the party's inclusive policies. He revealed that the Congress issued B-forms to 87% of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), BC, and minority communities, reflecting a commitment to diversity and representation. Goud pointed to the party's victory in 94 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), including municipal corporations and municipalities, as clear evidence of public endorsement for the Congress government's development agenda and welfare schemes.

Strategic Wins and Internal Party Dynamics

Goud further detailed specific electoral achievements, such as defeating MIM candidates in five seats within Nizamabad, which he linked to meticulous ticket selection based on comprehensive surveys. He mentioned that senior party member T Jeevan Reddy was counseled to comprehend the rationale behind these candidate choices, ensuring internal alignment. Regarding governance, Goud clarified that the TPCC will not intervene in cabinet affairs or potential expansions, maintaining a clear separation between party and administrative roles.

Focus on Development-Oriented Leadership in Mayoral Elections

On the topic of mayoral elections, Goud explained that corporators cast their votes with a primary focus on the developmental prospects of their respective constituencies. This approach, he asserted, signifies a shift towards growth-oriented leadership, prioritizing local infrastructure and community welfare over partisan considerations. The emphasis on tangible progress aligns with the Congress' broader strategy to consolidate its gains and foster sustained public trust in Telangana.
