Darbhanga: On the second day of the party's state conference on Sunday, CPI (ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya launched a scathing attack on the then Nitish Kumar government, alleging that due to its faulty policies, the state has effectively been handed over to the BJP. He claimed that bulldozer raj is being run in Bihar, with houses of poor people being demolished and protests by students and youths over their demands being suppressed.
Electoral irregularities alleged
Bhattacharya raised serious questions over the electoral process, asserting that lakhs of names have been deleted from the electoral roll. He demanded that these names be re-added immediately. He remarked that earlier, voters used to elect the government, but now the government, through the Election Commission, is selecting voters. He further alleged that land belonging to the poor is being acquired and handed over to corporate houses.
Anti-poor policies and rising violence
According to Bhattacharya, the government's policy is anti-poor and benefits only industrialists. He claimed that violence against women is increasing, and victims are not getting justice. He criticized the economic policies of the central government, stating that costs are rising daily, poor people are suffering heavily, and public transport is being weakened.
NEET paper leak issue
Raising the issue of the NEET paper leak, Dipankar said that criminal elements have infiltrated the conduct of prestigious competitive examinations. He claimed that 22 lakh students have been affected due to question paper leaks in NEET. He demanded strict action against those responsible.
The three-day state conference will conclude on Monday. A large number of delegates from across the state are participating. Besides Dipankar, Karakat MP and central committee member Rajaram Singh, National general secretary of APWA Meena Tiwari, and central committee member Manju Prakash, among others, are attending the conference.
