DK Shivakumar Denies Reports of Probable Ministers in Media

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has dismissed media reports that names of probable ministers are being circulated in the press. Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Shivakumar clarified that no such list has been finalised and that the Congress high command will take the final decision on cabinet formation.

Shivakumar returned to Bengaluru from New Delhi along with outgoing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah after holding discussions with the party leadership. He emphasised that the process of selecting ministers is being handled with due diligence and secrecy. “The names appearing in media are baseless. The high command will decide,” he stated.

Cabinet Formation Process Underway

The Congress party is currently in the process of forming a new cabinet for Karnataka after the recent elections. Both Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah are key stakeholders in the negotiations. Sources indicate that the high command is considering various factors such as regional balance, caste equations, and performance of candidates.

Shivakumar further added that the party is committed to forming a stable and inclusive government. He urged the media to refrain from speculating on ministerial berths until an official announcement is made.

No Final List Yet

When asked about the delay in cabinet formation, Shivakumar said that the party is taking time to ensure the best possible combination. He assured that the new ministers would be sworn in soon. The outgoing cabinet has been functioning in a caretaker capacity.

The Congress high command has been in constant touch with state leaders to finalise the names. A formal announcement is expected in the coming days.
