DMK, NTK Criticize AIADMK's Poll Promises as Copied Ideas

DMK Leaders and NTK Chief Condemn AIADMK's Election Promises

In Chennai on Saturday, prominent political figures launched sharp criticisms against the AIADMK's recent election promises. Natural Resources Minister S Regupathy, Industries Minister T R B Rajaa, and NTK chief coordinator Seeman all voiced strong objections to the announcements made by AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami.

Regupathy Accuses Palaniswami of Copying DMK Schemes

Minister S Regupathy issued a statement directly accusing Palaniswami of plagiarism. He claimed the AIADMK leader had simply copied successful DMK government schemes and repackaged them as new poll promises.

"Palaniswami clearly recognized the tremendous public impact of our DMK government's initiatives," Regupathy stated. "Instead of creating original policies, he chose to copy them and present them as his own election promises."

The minister challenged Palaniswami to provide updates on previous AIADMK election promises from 2011 and 2016. He demanded transparency about what the party had actually delivered during its time in power.

Rajaa Mocks AIADMK's Lack of Original Thinking

Industries Minister T R B Rajaa took to social media platform X to amplify the criticism. He asserted that Palaniswami lacked the capacity for fresh, innovative thinking about governance.

"When our DMK party unveiled its manifesto in 2021, Palaniswami dismissed our proposals as unfeasible," Rajaa recalled. "Yet Chief Minister M K Stalin has successfully implemented every one of those initiatives. Now Palaniswami simply puts his sticker on our proven schemes."

Rajaa's comments highlighted what he sees as hypocrisy in the AIADMK's approach to policy-making and election campaigning.

Seeman Warns of Mounting State Debt

NTK chief coordinator Seeman presented a different but equally critical perspective. Speaking to reporters in Chennai, he warned that implementing AIADMK's promises would dangerously increase Tamil Nadu's financial burden.

Seeman specifically addressed the proposal for free bus travel for men. He argued this would exacerbate existing problems in the state transport system.

"The state transport corporation already carries a debt of one lakh crore rupees," Seeman revealed. "Providing free bus travel for men could push this debt to one and a half lakh crore rupees. Instead of free rides, we should focus on improving bus quality and service reliability."

Political Implications in Tamil Nadu

The coordinated criticism from both DMK ministers and the NTK coordinator suggests growing opposition unity against the AIADMK's election platform. These attacks come at a crucial time in Tamil Nadu's political calendar.

Several key points emerge from Saturday's statements:

  • DMK leaders accuse AIADMK of lacking original policy ideas
  • Ministers highlight their party's successful implementation of previous promises
  • NTK raises practical concerns about the financial viability of AIADMK proposals
  • All critics question the credibility of AIADMK's election commitments

The public exchange sets the stage for intensified political debate as parties prepare for upcoming electoral contests in Tamil Nadu.
