Hyderabad: In a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the alleged fake government orders (GOs) conspiracy to grab land, the Narsingi police on Friday arrested former YSR Congress Party MLA Bolla Brahma Naidu in Tamil Nadu.
Anticipatory Bail Rejected
Police sources revealed that after a case was registered and several accused were arrested, Brahma Naidu approached the Telangana High Court seeking anticipatory bail. However, the court rejected his plea after considering the evidence, the seriousness of the offense, and the fact that the case is still under investigation, a Cyberabad police officer stated.
Tracking and Arrest
Once it became clear that Brahma Naidu was on the run, police tracked his movements to Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu. With the assistance of local police, he was taken into custody and shifted to the Shiva Kanchi police station. A police officer confirmed, “Brahma Naidu is being brought to Hyderabad as per procedure.”
So far, six individuals have been arrested in connection with the conspiracy. Investigators believe that Naidu’s custodial interrogation will shed further light on the network behind the forged GOs and the extent of the alleged land grab.
The Conspiracy
The conspiracy revolves around attempts to illegally regularize government land in Gandipet through forged GOs. Police allege that members of the Nimmala family in Gandipet, with the support of agent Ramakrishna and others, conspired with Brahma Naidu to take over 10 acres of prime land. After the family lost a claim in the High Court, they allegedly turned to Brahma Naidu and his associates to fabricate documents that would back their ownership.
Financial Transactions
According to investigators, Brahma Naidu had even entered into an agreement with the family to purchase the property. During these transactions, fake GOs were allegedly created to strengthen the claim, and Brahma Naidu is said to have paid Rs 12 crore to various accused. Revenue officials, upon discovering the irregularities, lodged a complaint at Narsingi police station, setting off the probe.
The arrest marks a crucial step in unraveling the fraudulent scheme, and authorities are expected to pursue further leads to identify all involved parties.
